After a month's long strike by Canada Post, the mail system is getting back into swing, so the fall titles are finally available online. We've got a new rubber-stamped chapbook of poetry by Ottawa poet, Jeff Black. In The Briny was our most labor-intensive rubber-stamp project to date. It's also one of the loveliest.

We've also got a new addition to our STUMPT series-- numero six; which has some of the longest short-form poems we've done with rubber stamps. (we didn't intend to have both chapbooks with birds on the cover, but that's how it worked out!)

And finally, three new postcards. One is an addition to the Welcome to Concrete series-- jwcurry's spray painting concrete poetry onto concrete. The two most recent pieces are asemic, fire-written poems by Michael e. Casteels.

With this autumn's Small Press Fairs now behind us, we're slowing down the press for a brief winter hiatus. We were busy through the fall with cutting, folding, sewing and stamping.

Our ongoing journal of tiny poems-- STUMPT-- is going into its sixth issue. We're running low on stock for issues 1 and 3, so we're putting together a little bundle (only 4 available) of the first five issues. Only $15.50!


If you're interested in minimalist or short-form poetry then this is the journal for you. If you're interested in submitting work, then picking up these issues might be a good idea, just to get a sense of the restraints we're working with and breaking through.

It's been over five years since our last illiterature. call for submissions! We have published two issues since then, issue 8, and 8&a 1/2, but those issues were work that came in for the Off Cuts and Loose Ends series.

Issue 9 of illiterature. is going to be a journal of decomposition. Interpret that however you wish. We're really excited to see what kind of work comes in, and what we can do with this issue.
